the zip file into the directory of VLC<\/li>\n<li>Make sure that the file is replaced:\n<ul>\n<li>The file may be\u00a0<i>hidden<\/i><\/li>\n<li>Replace\u00a0<i>.hosts<\/i>\u00a0inside of\u00a0<i>&lt;DIRECTORY_of_VLC&gt;\/lua\/http<\/i>\u00a0directory, for edit (the file may be hidden)<\/li>\n<li>Either add your mobile device&#8217;s external IP address (while using 3G\/4G) [easy]:\n<ul>\n<li>Open a browser on your mobile device<\/li>\n<li>Go to\u00a0What Is My IP Address\u00a0to detect the external IP address of the mobile device<\/li>\n<li>Inside the\u00a0<i>.hosts<\/i>\u00a0file of VLC, enter that IP address of your mobile device (e.g. 123.123.123.123)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Or add your ISP&#8217;s entire network (while using 3G\/4G) [advanced]:\n<ul>\n<li>Open a browser on your mobile device<\/li>\n<li>Go to\u00a0Hurricane Electric BGP Toolkit\u00a0to detect the class of your mobile device&#8217;s external IP address (most likely it&#8217;s class\u00a0<i>B<\/i>)<\/li>\n<li>Inside the\u00a0<i>.hosts<\/i>\u00a0file of VLC, enter this network subnet (e.g. 123.123.0.0\/16)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Save the file (you may need administrator privileges to perform that operation)<\/li>\n<li>Restart VLC to make sure that the changed configuration is loaded<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\"
